Boho chic is also known as “Bohemian look”. It is basically style of dressing which is popular in 1960s and 1970s. The intrinsic of Bohemian is free and flowy fabric. The style was prominent to environment so natural fabrics or common clothing were used. It only focuses on nature and environment, so mostly layering of garments over each other to get truly bohemian look. Also needed accessories and subtle makeup to complete the look.

Boho chic look

1.LAYERED CLOTHING- If you have to carry a Bohemian look, one should have layered their cloths. As the look has been inspired by travelling gypsies and hippies who travelled with everything they owned, this means that they layered clothing over other pieces to keep warm and to avoid having to carry extra clothing.

For Example- You can wear bralette under long shrug or a jacket and at bottom a hot pant. This advantages your look as if you feel cool or warm you can easily remove or put it back whenever you wanted. As a traveller one should never want to carry to much luggage and always wanted to go free.

Choose oversized or flowing cloths, so as to feel the freedom or make yourself comfortable. And truly said “wear whats make you feel comfortable”. Style is which make you feel better or allow you to move freely. Always choose natural fabrics as we talk about harmony with nature, fabrics which are natural like cheese cloth, hemp, and cotton. You could also include a few pieces that are made of chiffon, lace, or silk.

Subtle makeup look and messy hair!

2. Hair Do and Makeover- For carrying bohemian look, go for long, loose wavy hairs. And even a messy hair would also go with the look. If you have wavy hairs then just wash your hair and let it dry and if you have straight hair, then don’t worry..straight hair will also look good.

Also one can apply for braids it also look great. If you have long enough hair then you can definitely go for braids, key point is to create messy and effortless look so don’t worry if your braid isn’t perfect.

Keep your makeover natural or simple. It is not necessary to put on makeup, you can simply be in your real look as this is certainly the most natural look. If you are not caring makeup just put moisturizer with SPF which will protect your skin against UV rays of sun.

In case your are caring on makeup, it should subtle for which you can apply foundation, neutral eye shadow, nude shades of lip color etc. If you have any blemishes you want to cover up using foundation, opt for a foundation that provides light coverage and advertises an illuminating finish. This finish will give you that dewy skin that everyone wants. Apply bit of bronzer which will create effect of sun kissed look. And eyes should be lined with thin liner and mascara, not smoky or cat eye will go with this look.

3. ACCESSORIES- Accessories also plays an important part, you can go for headgear like tiara, and necklaces, rings, earrings, bracelets etc. In addition to the look you can also paint your nails if you like to color your nails. One should apply neutral colors or metallic colors.

Few pieces of jewellery, if your outfit is simple and subtle, you can add little bit jewellery to your look. But jewellery should not be of plastic, stick to the natural tones. Instead of plastic, look for beads, leathers, shell, woven threads. Turquoise and wood is also great material you can use it in your jewellery. Also you can look for handmade artisans craft.

Hats, scarves and belts will complete your look. If you feel that your outfit yet not completed or missing something, you can add scarves, belt or hat to complete your look. If you are trying to create a sort of relaxed gypsy look then after following above steps you called as Bohemian Girl”.
